Sometimes I love the Twitter. I saw this great tweet concerning a small victory in the battle against GMO uber-thugs Monsanto. It made me smile, there’s nothing better than seeing a bully bitch slapped. Other than the bully Monsanto bitch slapped!
This was retweeted by @GMWatch. It just caught my eye in the Twitter feed. However, the full story gleaned from the link and really does need the following sections from the accompanying link for the full story. Continue reading →
(Francis Moore Lappe) spoke in Des Moines, Iowa, last Friday at the World Food Prize, where the day before three biotech scientists and executives, including a Monsanto executive vice-president, received the 2013 honor.
Not exactly where you’d expect to see me?
I was there because the courageous, sustainable agriculture leader, Dr. Hans Herren — 1995 World Food Prize Laureate — invited me to join his panel. I knew that in the five minutes allotted each panelist, I couldn’t change minds. But, maybe, I thought, I could create a moment of dissonance for a few. Continue reading →
The Vegan GMO website with it’s allegedly vegan pro-GMO activists would have you believe that GM crops are good for the environment. From their site:
Environment: Creating plants that use fewer pesticides and fertilizers will help us strive toward a sustainable agriculture that’s less detrimental to all life on this planet. Fewer insects would be killed, less run off will poison fish, and no- or low-till agriculture will save the lives of ground-dwelling animals.
This is a standard pro-GMO claim. And in theory it sounds great. Develop GM crops that don’t need to use the quantity of chemicals regular intensively farmed crops require and bingo, environmental benefits. What could possibly be wrong with that? Well the main issue is that chemical use increases over time. The GM crops require more spraying not less. Curious but is there any evidence. Continue reading →

Vegan GMO rumble on with their same tactics. They refuse to answer even the simplest point and just press on with their rhetoric. It is straightforward tabloid tactics, there’s just no attempt to reply to any point made. That is, other than claim that the scientific consensus points to the safety of GM foods.
The vegan GMO rumble continues as they repeat the same nonsense again and again. And when directly asked pertinent questions directly related to GMOs and vegans they ignore it. Vegan GMO are you actually vegan?
