I’ve recently purchased my own mean green juicer machine and have been green juicing away merrily. Recently, I have been diluting the juice so it’s a little easier on the stomach. I haven’t paid much attention to breaking myself in gently, it’s been more of a bull in a green juicing shop approach. Lots of kale, broccoli and cabbage, well if you want green juice you gotta juice green vegetables!
And if you want the best results from your juice you really ought to go for organic vegetables. Following the infographic – keep scrolling it’s a long way down – there’s an example recipe using Vegetropolis organic veg. Great! Continue reading →
Trishul Raw Chocolate is a locally based producer of fantastic raw chocolate and will be at the upcoming Cruelty Free Christmas Fair this weekend, 15th December. I was lucky enough to get a sneek peak at some of this lovely stuff before the event.
Raw chocolate is what it says on the tin, chocolate that has NOT been cooked. This means the cacao bean goodness is preserved rather than being destroyed during the roasting process. And there is bountiful goodness in that bean, this means that raw chocolate is healthy. In fact, more than healthy it’s a superfood. Continue reading →
I’ve recently got hold of a great masticating juicer machine and it’s been a blast using it. Juice drinking is healthy, there’s no question about that as long as it’s not out of a carton, which is not healthy. Pasteurised cartons of juice are little, if any, better than pop, soda or whatever you want to call it. Calories without benefits. Continue reading →
Well America decided against voting for Romney so to celebrate I made an Obahma Juice drink this morning. I’ve only recently acquired a masticating juicer which allows you to get juice out of almost anything vegetable. It’s great and is pretty easy to clean, certainly compared to the cheap juicer I had previously.
Anyway here’s the Obahma Juice recipe …
8 organic beetroot washed, topped and tailed
5 organic carrots washed, topped and tailed
2 small cox’s apples
3/4 organic cucumber washed
2 organic broccoli stalks
6 savoy cabbage leaves washed
4 stalks of celery (reduce this amount if you like)
This makes a stunning amount of juice, well about 700ml! That’s sufficient for three drinks across the day and so three bursts of mineral and enzyme fun! Well to be honest there’s way too much celery in there for me, I’m not keen but am keen on getting the health benefits from celery, so ya gotta do what ya gotta do…
